This year's annual fashion awards were presented by Diet Coke and hosted by the gorgeous Jodie Turner-Smith. The awards took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London and saw many huge fashion icons such as Naomi Campbell, Simone Ashley, and Edward Enninful.
There were many huge trends on the carpet this year, the main ones being trains, gothic vibes, as well as the occasional pops of colour. Let's take a look at some of my personal favourites from the night.
Naomi Campbell
The queen herself, Naomi Campbell showed up to the red carpets this year wearing this gorgeous silver embellished Valentino floor-length show-stopping gown. Chrome and silver are such a trend right now and Naomi really took this trend and spun it on its head. She looks absolutely flawless and I love that she has tied the look together with all the silver jewellery.
Florence Pugh
Ever since Don't Worry Darling premiered earlier this year, I have been utterly obsessed with Florence and her style- she constantly turns look after look, and this one lived up to all her standards as usual. I absolutely adore this red Valentino ballgown dress on her, and I love the juxtaposition she has gone for with the classic satin gown but then chose to go very grungy with her hair and makeup. This is a super hard look to pull off and make look coherent, but Florence smashed it.
Winnie Harlow
Now, this is how you show up on a red carpet- Winnie looks unreal. She turned up wearing this super extreme and out-there brown dress by Iris Van Herpen Couture. I love this unique outfit on her and think she just radiates confidence and boss woman wearing it. I especially must mention those gorgeous rose gold shoe-heels (no idea what to call them, but they are so cool!).
Maya Jama
I was absolutely shaken when I saw this look from Maya Jama- on the red carpets usually she tends to play it cool and doesn't ever really seem to stand out to me- but this outfit is amazing. She is wearing Sabina Bilenko Couture and Messika and I just think this gown looks super elegant on her, and I love how she has paired it with a super extreme black oversized hat to elevate the look further.
Law Roach
Law is never really on my radar when it comes to red carpet looks, he always just looks amazing but again, we never tend to see anything different from him... until now. How phenomenal does he look! He wore this black and gold classic Kaushik Velendra suit. The slick back hair, extremely chunky shoes and smoky eye makes him look so glamorous and just go perfectly with the gold suit. I love this from him.
PALOMA ELSESSER
Paloma's always been a trendsetter and is always seen to love the corset trend, this look's no different. It's gothic, it's Victorian (but in a way that would make an *actual* Victorian faint) and it's utterly divine. This dress was designed by Dilara Fındıkoğlu, and I absolutely love it- she looks like she is channelling her inner Wednesday Adams!
Lila Moss
When your mum essentially INVENTED the naked dress and you turn up wearing a variation of it, there is always going to be pressure, but Lila absolutely smashed this look. This is another look of the night that swayed towards more of a gothic vibe, which was a really common theme on the carpet this year. The gloves, the cut-outs, and lingerie-style underwear really elevate this look and take it to a 10, her mum should be proud of how she looks in this amazing KNWLS number.
Jodie Turner-Smith
The host of the show Jodie Turner-Smith had some really big standards to live up to being the host, and I think she looks amazing wearing this bright lime green gown by Gucci. She really stood out on the red carpet against all the other dull and gothic looks. Everything about this dress I adore and I think it is perfect for the event, I especially love the ruffles.
Lily James
Lily also swayed away from the gothic trend this year and turned up in something quite the opposite. She wore this beautiful white tulle gown by Rodarte and Boucheron. For jewellery, she wore Boucheron’s Goutte de Cristal pendant earrings from their Timeless High Jewelry collection, paved with diamonds, on white gold, as well as the Lierre de Paris ring, set with rock crystal and mother-of-pearl, paved with diamonds, on white gold. Her jewellery collection must be phenomenal- I love this look!
Elsa Hosk
Although I have no idea who Elsa Hosk is, I couldn't not include her in my top 10. She looks absolutely phenomenal, and after seeing her in this outfit I will now be going straight to her Instagram to find and follow her to see some more of her looks. The hair, the makeup, the outfit- everything is just perfect and I love this!
