Playa Las Americas, Tenerife: Where To Eat

For all my food blog lovers, this one is for you! I have just gotten back from Playa Las Americas, Tenerife about a week ago and thought it would be a great idea to share with you all of my favourite eating places that I would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Tenerife, or planning on in the near future.

The Cheiftain

Starting off with breakfast options, my favourite meal of the day. We were staying at the KN Columbus Aparthotel, which we were lucky as this had so many different eating options all around the hotel, but definitely one of my favourites was 'The Chieftain'. This was a little Irish pub which does food all day (not only breakfast) as well as entertainment at night. Me and my boyfriend literally came here for our breakfast 4/7 days of our holiday, it was that good! Their fry ups were unreal, and tasted just as they do back home, this was my boyfriends go-to every morning. The Cajun chicken tikka here is also to die for, and they do it in toasties, baguettes, paninits etc etc, so this place is perfect for lunch too. If you do visit here, one thing i cant not mention is the chilli con carne nachos, my friend ordered these and they were absolutely next level- its a must try! Prices in here are bang on average also, and this is definitely a place i recommend when visiting Playa Las Americas.

El Mason

Another great location for breakfast is 'El Mason'. This place is a lot more central if you are staying on the main strip (around the safari center and Harry's Bar) as it is located just on the main road outside Parque Santiago hotel and the underground shopping center. We stumbled across this place after being super hungry and out a walk, and I'm glad we did as it was very good. They don't advertise breakfast on their main menu, but do serve fry ups in the morning/early afternoon. Both me and my boyfriend ordered one and it tasted great with all the main fry up essentials. Although this outdoor situated cafe is a little more on the pricier side because of where it is, it definitely is worth the money and a great breakfast option.

Dedo's

Moving on from breakfast and lunch and on to the main event, dinner! We visited 'Dedos' on one of our nights early on in our holiday and couldn't fault it! This is a busy little place, especially in the late afternoon around 7pm, so you may be best booking a table if there is a few of you- luckily for us, a group of 8, we were seated immediately just before it started getting busy. This restaurant specialises in street food from all around the globe and has something for whatever your mood. Most of the group I was with opted for the crispy chicken burger and this did not disappoint, it tasted so good, almost similar to KFC zinger burger. A must order if you come here is definitely the halloumi bites with sweet chilli sauce, these were genuinely so good. I also ordered a side which was advertised as Chicken tijuanas fries, which consisted of Chicken breast, cheese sauce, tandoori mayo, guacamole & coriander. These, i actually wouldn't recommend and was the only thing we ordered which we weren't a fan of, the sauce was just a bit strange tasting. Other than that, I really recommend trying this place as the food is great and prices are average, definitely worth a visit.

Restaurante Tina

Now this restaurant, is definitely a hidden gem, and if your willing to go a bit of a walk to find it, I guarantee won't be disappointed. We found this restaurant on the first night after getting completely lost and walking the opposite way to the strip, out of sheer hunger we decided to give it a try, we loved it so much we returned for a second meal another night. This is a little Italian style restaurant, with all the classic Italian meals you can think of. I was just super excited to see they had BBQ pizza on the menu, as that is my absolute favourite and nowhere seems to do them, especially not Italians. So i opted for this, with a side of fries. For a starter we all had cheesy garlic bread, and when i say this was the best garlic bread I have ever tried in my life, I'm not even being dramatic, I do mean it. The garlic bread came with several little dips too which honestly just made the meal, there was a green guacamole type dip, alongside some others which we couldn't put a name on but tasted so so good. The cocktails here were also, very good. This place was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel, but is in the opposite direction of the main strip- totally worth the walk if you ask me as this was one of my favourite meals in Tenerife.

Tandoori Hut

By the end of our holiday, me and my boyfriend were totally craving our favourite takeaway- an Indian. After going on a search for one, we realised there was one literally just down from our hotel, after checking the reviews and realising it was a 5 star restaurant, we decided to go in. The menu in this place is huge, and there is literally everything you could ever want to order. For starters my boyfriend ordered the Sheesh Kebab, and now looking back I wish I ordered that too it was so so good and tasted just like donner meat! I had veg pakora, which is usually my favourite, however the one here must have been extra extra extra hot and not for the faint hearted, as it almost blew my mouth off- I could only take one bite!! Keep this in mind if you order the veg pakora. After some milk and water, my main came which was chicken tikka masala, and wow this genuinely was the best curry I have ever had, of course after the started finasco, I opted for the extremely mild option, which was perfect for me. Antony ordered the mixed grill, which when it came looked like it could have fed a family of 4! It had chicken, beef, lamb, more sheesh kebab as well as even fish on the platter- it tasted unreal though and was definitely a good choice. We also had naan bread and chips as sides which we could barely finish because of how full we were. One other thing I must say about this place is how cheap it is!! Our full bill came to only 42 euros, that was including 4 drinks also which was the cheapest, and best meal we had.

Daniel’s

Daniel’s is a modern, street food kind of restaurant which has plenty to choose from on the menu. This is where we visited for dinner on our last night after liking the look of it from outside (and seeing the gorgeous looking cocktails!). This is also the perfect little people watching pub for when it starts to get busy at night. I ordered some chicken strips and chips, boring I know but you can’t ever go wrong with it! Antony ordered a cheese burger and fries, which he said was the best burger he had whilst out there. We also had theee best steak and cheese topped nachos ever! If you hadn’t guessed already, nachos are my fav! And of course, I couldn’t leave without trying one of the cocktails, I ordered a Purple rain, and it was so good I had to get another.
