glasgow charity annual Christmas fayre 2019

Updated: Jan 19, 2021

Glasgow city chambers held their annual Christmas fayre yesterday which was attended by many charities and visitors from all across Glasgow. The event was free to attend for all and gave the people of Glasgow a chance to support over 40 local organisations from across Glasgow by buying festive goods and gifts in order to raise as much money as possible to support different causes.

Some of the charities that attended the event featured Oxfam, Shelter Scotland, Bloodwise and Cancer Scotland. There were also children from local schools across Glasgow performing throughout the day who were part of choirs and sang several different Christmas carols. The event also had raffles which many participated in, as well as a small cafe which served tea, coffee and cakes throughout the day.

A representative from Cancer Trust said:

"It is a great opportunity for the local community to all get together in attempt to raise money for charity and support specific causes whilst also enjoy themselves at the same time."
