Title: A Glasgow Kiss

Author: Sophie Gravia

Publishing Date: 12th December 2020

Rating: 5/5

This book is a super easy and light hearted read, perfect for young adults. Based around dating and romance, the plot is comedic and full of unexpected twists that won't fail to cheer you up. It makes you laugh and it makes you cringe along with every emotion in between. What more can you ask for in a book?

The book is an emotional rollercoaster and was locally written by Sophie Gravia, a new and upcoming author who, going off this book alone is going to be a huge future hit. A Glasgow Kiss is based in the city of Glasgow and throughout mentions some of Glasgow's greatest hot spots such as bars and restaurants, which if you have been to Glasgow or live locally makes it really easy to picture the precise location the book is based and will be following her around every location she names.

The main character of the book, Zara is super loveable and it is really easy to form an attachment to her when reading the book. She is clumsy, comedic and every girl in their 20's and 30's guaranteed, will relate to her. The plot is based around Zara's love life and focuses on her trying to find the right man for her, as hard as she finds it.

Scottish slang is prevalent throughout the book, which adds a sense of hilarity and makes you not want to put the book down. Genuinely this book was hilarious to read and left tears of laughter rolling down my face. A quote from the book:

"I don't blame a guy for not wanting to settle for me,- Zara, the skint student who really used a scrunchie to wipe her arse because she couldn't afford toilet roll."

I think this is a super relatable book that every young adult female will definitely relate to. It can be really heart warming to know that you are not the only female who checks 'read reciepts' and 'last active' on social media platforms. Filled with sexual innuendos also, this book is not written for anyone who doesn't like 'too much information.'

This is a book is one that can be read again and again and never gets

boring, it's a definite pick me up that is always there when you need to be cheered up, or just need a good laugh. The ending of the book is super heart warming and extremely fitting, it really gives you a sense of self love and self worth as the book highlights what really matters most- friends and family.

You will not be disappointed in this book I assure you, and you also don't need to come from Glasgow to understand the plot and innuendos, everybody can relate. Buy it now!
