The list of beauty calendars is endless, the more the years go on the more companies are jumping on the hype. But what advent calendars are the best? and what ones should you steer clear from? This post I will be sharing my opinion on the top three best beauty advent calendars and bottom three so you don't have to waste your money.
BEST:
1.Pretty Little Thing: £40
This advent calendar has been one of the most popular and hyped up of 2020, and so it should be. The contents of this calendar add up to £160, and for only £40, it can only be described as a bargain! Contents include beauty products from brands such as Eldora, Morphe, Illimasqua, Peaches and Cream and many many more popular and high end brands. Overall this is one of my favourites this year and not only worth the money, but most of the stuff in it is useable and suits most people. If your going to get a calender this year, make it this one!!
2. W7 BEAUTY BLAST: £15
This is If your looking for an advent calendar this year that is cheap and cheerful, then this is definitely the one for you. For only £15 you get a range of full size and sample size makeup items. W7 is really known for their dupes of benefit makeup, and most of it works the exact same but for a fraction of the price, for example their 'Honolulu' bronzer, dupe for Benefit's 'Hoola', which is in this calendar. This is great for trying out new products, as it contains several matte lipsticks and lipliners. Not to mention this calendar has 24 doors and not 12, that's just over 50p per item!!
3. NIVEA BEAUTY & BODY ADVENT CALENDAR: £30
Although this isn't specifically a 'makeup' calendar, it's definitely worth a mention. Priced at just £40 ( On sale in Morrison's for just £15!!) this calendar is the one that you will get the most use out of, as almost every item in the calendar is one most people use daily such as; deodorant, body lotion, face wipes, lip balms, sponges, micellar water and many more. This also has 24 doors, therefore is well worth your money. Not many people have seen this calendar this year or know it exists as there hasn't been much hype about it, but this would for sure come in super useful and a lot less wasteful than most calendars on the market. Who doesn't love Nivea?
NOW FOR THE WORST...
1. Real Techniques: £35
This is one advent calendar that flopped this year, Originally priced on Superdrug at £70 (yes, £70!!) this calendar features mini brushes, sponges and things that are at the end of the day useless and extremely underwhelming. Some of these include: hair ties, kirby grips, clasps, blotting paper, nail files, tweezers and much more. It seems these things are only in the calendar to make up space. Other than the three sponges you get, everything else is extremely underwhelming. Even the brushes are mini! Stay clear.
2. ELF-TASTIC 12 AY CALENDAR: £45
Priced the highest of all out of the rest of the previous calendars, you would expect a bit more right? Wrong, this calendar has only 12 days and the contents within them are nothing to be excited about. It's value is worth £55, therefore it is not that much of a good deal for your money either, you would be better spending £45 on the individual products you like. The products included aren't even all full sized either! Although there are some good products in this, such as the setting spray and primer, the rest are just random makeup bits that a lot of people probably wouldn't even use.
